Background Information
The Bakersfield Association of REALTORS® Scholarship Trust Fund was established in 1971. The initial funds were contributions from REALTORS® who believed that the industry could be enhanced by providing quality education to those working toward a real estate career and that the industry had much to offer to those wishing to build a career.

The first scholarship trustees were E. L. "Jack" Armstrong, John W. Hatcher, Elmer F. Karpe, Kenneth A. Shelton and Robert D. Watson. The Scholarship Trust is currently managed by five trustees who are REALTOR® members of the Bakersfield Association of REALTORS®.

Funds for the trust come from donations and fundraising efforts.
